WOOD 4 FLOORING FITTING ADVISE
We have fitted this flooring in both the methods shown below
INSTALLATION; Glued as a floating floor or nailed. Suitable for underfloor heating if based on an embeded (screed) system must be fully bonded with a flexi wood adhesive.
- Secretly nailed to both joists and over existing floorboard (secret nailing is where you hammer a nail just above the tongue at an angle of approx. 45*, punch the nail head just under the surface using a nail punch and when the next boards groove is laid and knocked over the tongue it covers and hides the nail heads)
- Glued it directly to the prepared subfloor.
- Floated the planks on an underlay over both timber and concrete subfloors (floating means that you do not fix the boards directly to the subfloor. You would either 'lock' the joints together or you would apply a bead of wood glue to the top side of the groove to every board so as you knock it into position any excess glue will run into the groove and not ooze out all over the face of the finished floor)
